KYIV: Qatar has flown in a cargo of humanitarian aid of personal protective equipment to Ukraine’s Boryspil International Airport to help the country fight the covid-19 pandemic, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

The roughly 9 ton cargo contained urgently needed medical gowns, glasses, masks, respirators, gloves, face shields and overalls, and was received by Dmytro Kuleba, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ambassador of Qatar.

“Ukraine highly appreciates the decision of the Amir of Qatar and will always remember this demonstration of friendship. Our bilateral relations have great potential, and we are determined to ensure their further development,” Dmytro Kuleba noted.

The medical aid was dellivered after an agreement between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Al Thani.
